Holly, it has been a year since the Lord called you home. It has also been a year of firsts for Peyton and I.
First New Year without you.
First Birthdays without you.
First Anniversary without you.
First Thanksgiving without you.
First Christmas without you.
And a whole lot more. We still miss you a whole bunch. You are always on our minds and in our hearts.
Today, a couple of families from 4-H will begin construction on a prayer garden at the church in your honor and memory. I know it will be special since you always wanted one:)
So much has happened in this last year, that I wish we could have shared it together.
In all of this, Peyton and I can still say GOD IS GOOD!

REMEMBER WHEN
Good Day to All
Usually, I share a scripture verse and follow up with a short message. Today, however, I just want to share with you a memory that is special to me.
The bible teaches that the Holy Spirit teaches us all things, and brings to our remembrance all things. (John 14). Also, the bible teaches there is a book of remembrance that God has. (Malachi 3). The word remember is mentioned over 150 times throughout the bible.
Today is a day of remembrance for me. My beautiful wife went home to be with the Lord December 26, 2012. It was a sad but happy day. Sad - that she left here and I miss here. Happy - knowing that she is with the Lord and I will get to see here again. PTL!
But, this is not the memory I want to share. 20 years ago this day, somewhere around this time (Holly would know the exact time, lol), is the first time I met Holly. Who would have thought that we would marry, have a child and be in the ministry. I know one person who would have known - Holly. 20 years seems like a long time on one hand, but on the other, it just seems like a week. I remember that day so vividly and I remember that week like it was yesterday. There is so much I could write, but I will hold that in my heart and cherish the memories of the love we shared for each other.
I encourage you to make memories with your family. Ultimately, make sure you and your family is ready to meet the Lord when it is your time to do so.

Happy New Year
Good Morning,

It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.
It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessings --- Life forevermore.
May the body of Christ dwell in unity like never before.
Count your blessings, you never know when they will depart.

To My Wife
My Sweet Holly:
I love you very much. 24 hrs ago, the Lord called you home. My heart is broken, I want you and need you here. But, I know now, you have your total healing. You fought a great battle and proven a lot of people wrong (even doctors) in this. Truly the Lord gave you strength in all of this. You are an amazing woman of God, a precious wife and an awesome mother. You were my strength (in the natural) as we pressed along in the ministry together. You were such an encourager and uplifter. Truly, as your friend said, an Angel sent from heaven. We laughed, cried, rejoiced, hurt together. Since you left this earth, Peyton and my heart truly aches for you. Peyton loves you very much. He adored you like no other. He truly was a mama's boy. It has been hard to try to tell explain to him what has transpired. I have been through pain before but not like this. No matter what, through life or death, may the name of Jesus be glorified!

You were truly example of a Proverbs 31 woman.

Emmanuel/Immanuel
Good Morning,
The Lord is Good!!!
Matthew 1:20-25
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us".
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
And did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
No matter what you go through. No matter what the name of your trial is. No matter what kind of tribulation you have, remember that God is with us!
Even though the doctors have given my wife a month to live, I can still say Emmanuel, God is with me!
To my wife: Even though death is knocking, the circumstance seems lost, Emmanuel, God is still with you!
We are praying and believing that the Lord is going to raise you up for His glory!
Some spiritual advice from a healing evangelist of times past (Smith Wigglesworth): I am not moved by what I feel, I am not moved by what I see, I am moved but what I believe.

Follow Me
Good Afternoon,
Matthew 9:9
And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
Follow in the Greek means:
a. To be an attendant
b. To accompany
c. To go with or follow
When you break down the Greek word Akoloutheo, it means:
a. way
b. To move quickly
c. Straight
The individual calling to follow Jesus involved abiding fellowship with Him, not only for the sake of learning as a scholar from his teacher, but also for the sake of the salvation known or looked for, which presented itself in this fellowship.
The first thing involved in following Jesus is a cleaving to Him in believing trust and obedience, those cleaving to Him, also following His leading, acting according to His example. Hence the constant stress laid by the Lord Jesus upon the need of self-denial and fellowship with Himself in the cross. Thus following Jesus denotes a fellowship of faith as well as a fellowship of life, sharing in His sufferings not only inwardly, but outwardly if necessary. Such outward fellowship with Jesus, however, could not continue without inner moral and spiritual fellowship. (Lexical aids to the New Testament)
Jesus is calling out - Follow Me. Will you quickly move toward Him or will you move in a different direction. His direction is the straight and narrow, the other direction is the broadway. The call is out, will you arise and follow Him?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

Memorial Day 2012
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day that we (Americans) set aside to honor those that have died while serving our nation. May 5, 1868 was officially proclaimed Memorial Day by General John Logan. It became an official federal holiday in 1971.
I am thankful for the all the men and women who have died while defending America. My prayer is that those family members and friends would be comforted with the love of our Lord and His peace that passes all understanding.
You see, if anyone knows about giving the ultimate sacrifice, it would be our Lord Jesus Christ. That upon Calvary, He shed his blood for the remission of sins. That whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Loss of life isn't fun, neat or even cool. The reality of it, is that someone had to pay for it. Yes, our fellow Americans paid for our freedom with their life. Do we really understand that and do we really appreciate it? As those that paid for our freedom with their life, so did Jesus pay for our freedom. Not naturally but spiritually. It cost Him everything. But, to those that receive it, it's FREE! Not a thing we can do to earn it. Do we really understand what He did? Do we really understand about eternity?
I think a fitting verse for Memorial Day would be in 1 John. Remember, the bible says so in the natural, so in the spiritual.
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Pssst.....THE TOMB IS EMPTY!
HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Mag-da-le-ne and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
Christ has risen. He has power over death, hell and the grave! Praise the Lord!

The New Year 2012 - Faith - Healer in the House
Good Morning,
Hebrews 11:1
Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.
Happy New Year! I know it's already February but better late than never:). It has been busy around here in the last 2-3 months. From work, to church and to seeing a miracle perform before our very eyes in the life of my beautiful wife.
I want to encourage all believers that no matter what life brings and no matter how bad the situation is going on in your home. Whether it is a physical, financial, relational or emotional problem - There is a Healer in your house today.
For those that don't know, my wife was diagnosis in September in the hospital with stage 3 colon/rectal cancer. I will give you the short story of a long but beautiful version of how the Lord was watching over my wife and the family. Doctors had to do emergency surgery on her that day. Even the doctors we stunned in their findings. 1st reason, the previous test didn't indicate anything of "severity" being wrong. 2nd reason, with my wife being young, the doctors were not even thinking about colon/rectal cancer. Doctors recommended radiation and chemo because of where it was located. This was confirmed by the radiation and chemo doctors also. We are very thankful for the doctors, nurses and staff that the Lord had put in our path. My wife (family) and a decision to make. Do we do the radiation and chemo or was there another way. With prayer and fasting, my wife (family) decided that we put our faith in the healing power of the Lord. Let me say this. If you have had cancer or going through it right now, please don't get me wrong about what I just said in regards to faith. I don't believe that Christians who had/having radiation and chemo have less faith then those that choose not to have it. Each person must pray and seek the Lord in regards to their situation. It was mid September 2011 when we found out that my wife had colon/rectal stage 3 cancer. As of today, February 12, 2012 (actually in December 2011) according to the doctors (per PET scan) there is not any trace of cancer in her body. PRAISE THE LORD! Matter of fact, on February 2, 2012 her rimary doctor came in and said the following:. I know that you and your family on praying and believing people. Medically speaking, I can't explain whay you are in such good health. I (the doctor) will make a note of this and put it in your file. The doctor went on to say, whatever you are doing, keep doing. Thank you Jesus!
I will probably explain what we did and continue to do in the process of walking out our healing in my next blog.
Now, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.
If we broke this down in the Greek is would go something like this:
Presently believing in the divine truth equals (calls for) confident expectation, expecting with desire the proof of things not perceived.
May our faith grow tremendously in 2012.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angels said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitide of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us know go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Today, is a day that in America we set aside to give Thanks. As you go about today, can you name 10 things that you can be thankful for? I believe I can and probably many more.
Top Ten Thankful List:
a. Jesus Christ, my redeemer!
b. The Bible, The Word of God (the gospel going forth)
c. My family (wife, son) - this includes (other family too)
d. My wife (what she has been through and how the hand of the Lord is on her)
e. The church (people of like minded faith, prayers, support)
f. Life (the ability to think, move, walk, breathe, etc)
g. Trials (that come our way, they are there to make believers strong)
h. Work (the Lord will always provide for His people)
i. Food, clothing and shelter (provision provided by the Lord)
j. Together today with family and friends for fellowship and breaking of bread.

Just Want To Say
The Lord is Good!
No matter what you are going through, be stirred in your spirit that the Lord is Faithful!
If you are going through a test, get ready to tell your testimony.
Also, Happy Rosh Hashannah. Rosh Hashannah started at sunset on 9/28. This is the Jewish New Year. The Jewish Year is now 5772. In short, Rosh Hashannah is a time to look back at the mistakes of the past year and plan the changes to make in the new year. Even though Rosh Hashannah is about life and death, it is also a time filled with hope for the coming New Year. Take some time whether Jew or Gentile and learn about this special occasion. May this New Year find yourself desire the Lord with an intense passion.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Let's be encouraged by the words of Jesus this day.
We live in a day where the world seems to be in a "New York Minute" pace. On top of that, we have other natural concerns and on top of that, we as believers have our spiritual walk to contend for. With all this in front of us, we at times, can get tired and worn out physically and spiritually. But, thank the Lord that He left us with His instructions to walk in this life.
Jesus says, come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Labor in the Greek means:
a. grow weary
b. work with effort (physically and mentally)
c. hard work
d. to labor until worn out, depleted (exhausted)
Heavy laden in the Greek means:
a. over-load
b. causing someone to be literally weighted-down
Whether it is a job, health issue, financial issue, family issue and/or a spiritual issue and you feel like a ton of bricks have been put on your shoulders (weighted-down) and you can't go any further - the answer that you are looking for is - Come to Jesus!
Jesus is they only one that can provide true salvation, true peace, true love, true answers and true REST!
Rest in the Greek means:
a. ease
b. to give rest (refresh)
c. completing a process
d. to pause
How do I come to Jesus?
For the Sinner:
a. Acknowledge Jesus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
b. Repent of your sins
c. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord
d. Believe that Jesus died, was buried, and arose from the grave
e. Tell the Lord you can't do it, He has to be your REST
For the Saint:
a. Just talk with your Savior
b. Let Him know what you are in need of
c. Praise Him and Thank Him with a grateful heart for answering your request
d. Leave your "over-load" with Him and REST a sure that He will take care of you
JESUS IS OUR REST!!!

Offended?
Good Evening to All:
Let's look at our text.
Matthew 11:6
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
The Webster Dictionary definitions for the word "offend" are:
a. sin, transgress
b. to cause discomfort or pain
c. to cause dislike or vexation
To offend someone is to cause great hurt to that person whether ignorantly or knowingly. I have seen and heard people carrying a great offense around for many years and some even to their grave. If someone doesn't deal with being offended quickly, it will turn into bitterness. When a matter becomes bitter, it wrecks havoc on the spirit of that person. Bitterness can cause natural and spiritual death to someone.
This brings us to our story in the book of Matthew. The story goes like this. John (the Baptist) had been put into prison for preaching the truth to King Herod Antipas. While in prison, John heard about the works of Christ so he sent two of his disciples to Jesus. The disciples said to Jesus "John wants to know are you the one that should come or do we look for another"? Jesus answered and said unto them, "Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see". Jesus says the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
It's verse 6 of Matthew chapter 11 that is quite profound. Jesus says "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me". I believe this is a statement for all, but especially the body of Christ. I have said and will say again - the best place to get hurt is church. If you have spent some time in church, then you probably have been hurt in one way or another. Why did Jesus have to mention verse 6 at all? He could have stopped at verse 5. The answer is two-fold. One, Jesus in verse 5 was confirming the inner thoughts and questions that John had about Him (Jesus). Other words, Jesus says yes, I am the one you are looking for. Then the question has to be asked. Why would John even ask Jesus if he is the one since John baptized Jesus in water? The answer is verse 6. I believe what John was saying is this - If you (Jesus) are the one coming so why don't you come and rescue me out of this prison. All Jesus did was confirm who he was (verse 5) and spoke something of great value in verse 6. The great value was this - If I (Jesus) never help you out of prison and you remain there, it doesn't mean I am not the one coming, it doesn't mean I "lost" my "Messiah" title - all it means is I choose (meaning His will) you to remain in jail. The question is John, if you remained in jail would you still serve me or what you be offended and turn from me since you (John) feel that I didn't come to your aid?
Verse 6 was not only for John but for us believers as well. We might be in situations that it doesn't seem right or fair. Our flesh wants rise up and blame God. Why me God? I thought I was your child? Questioning God is not a great offense. It is okay. But, if continued, it can lead us to be offended. Once offended, mostly like it can cause us to turn from God and blame Him for our woes. The question is directed at us. Even in our darkest hour, will we be offended at the Lord or will we praise Him in our storm?
If you feel that you have been offended by the Lord, by some pastor or even by some Christian (whether right or wrong) - I ask you to sincerely seek the Lord and receive His cleansing power. Don't walk around with hurt but walk to the Healer.

Don't Be Fooled
Greetings to all:
Well, May 21, 2011 has come and has gone. No rapture has taken place. So, what does this tell us?
Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mark 13:32
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
First thing this tells us is that when someone puts a date and a time to the rapture, you can know without a doubt (100%) that the rapture will not take place on that date and hour! No man, not even the angels, neither the Son, knows the date and hour. Only the Father! Even naturally speaking, date and time setting doesn't make sense. For example: let's use May 21st and the time they gave was 6pm (EST). If the rapture did happen on that day what do you do with people that live in other parts of the world that it's already the 22nd of May? Plus, if it happened at 6pm (EST) what do you do with the people that live in other time zones. This is one reason I believe that the bible does not record a date or time of the rapture. Another reason and most likely the best reason is that people would abuse the sacrifice (shedding of blood) of our precious Jesus. Other words, they would live their life has selfishly and fleshly till the last minute then make it right to get to go to heaven.
Second thing this "prediction" tells us is that there are false prophets, teachers and etc out their under the label "minister". Please note that once a false prophet most likely always a false prophet unless there has be true repentance. This person that predicted the rapture on May 21st also predicted that the rapture would happen in 1994. As we all know, that didn't take place. He (Harold Camping) is a false prophet!
Third thing this tells us is that it gave Christianity another black eye we didn't need. People mocked the rapture, the church and Jesus. To be honest, I think that is a foreshadowed of what to come when the real rapture takes place. People will be marrying, buying and selling and living it up - then - all of sudden Jesus calls us upward. The sad part is that some of those that followed Harold Camping teachings woke up on the 22nd with all their hopes gone. Some sold everything believing that they would not be here. We as true believers must pray that the mercy and grace of God will lead them to the straight and narrow path.
In conclusion, will there be a rapture? 100% YES! When? No man, no angel and not even the Son knows. How do when know it will happen and who can go?
How do we know?
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Who can go?
Verse 14 says For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again....
One must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
One must believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus
The Greek meaning for believe is:
a. give credit to
b. faith(ful)
c. implying knowledge or assent to and confidence in Him
If we believe that Christ died for us and rose then we should repent of our sins and turn toward God confessing that Jesus is Lord!. Remember, those that endure till the end shall be saved!

HE IS RISEN!!!
Happy Resurrection Day!
Matthew 28:5-6
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
I love what the angel said to the women. Fear not.
They were told to fear not because what that Lord said earlier in His ministry has came to past. The Lord said He would die and He would rise!
I also believe there was another reason the angel spoke those words to the women. These women were just not some group that happen upon the tomb that day. And, if they were just some group that happen upon the tomb that day, I believe these words "Fear not" would not have greeted them. Why? Because these women were followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
These women were believers (saved). They understood that Jesus Christ is the perfect love. In Him there is no fear.
This is why John the Baptist said "Behold, the Lamb of God that take away the sin of the world."
Because of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, those that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. All fear will be gone. The reason that fear will be gone and replaced by perfect peace is that the tomb is empty.
1 Corinthians 15:55
Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory?
Just a reminder for all believers: when you feel like everything is falling apart, take a peek inside and see that the tomb is still empty.
Also, for those that do not follow Jesus, I encourage you to put your faith in perfect love (Christ our Lord).
Oh, Glorious Day! Thank the Lord for the Resurrection!
